TEA BREAK

MICHAEL’S CAKES by JEAN BUDD

It’s Wednesday and we are in for a treat –

For Michael’s cakes are fresh and sweet.

Do we come to play, or choose our bun

From Michael’s box? -  It’s so much fun!

It’s hard to decide as they’re all so good,

And we all tuck in, not sure that we should.

The chocolate one, or currants, or lemon slice?

Or the iced custard square which is squidgy but nice?

We go back to our playing with a bounce in our stride,

And a contented grin that’s hard to hide.

So, “Thank you Michael, for going out of your way

To bring us our cakes and make our day!”.
